KHAIRPUR, Aug 2: Three-day Urs of renowned Sufi poet of Sindh Sachal Sarmast will begin on Friday.

Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah would inaugurate the Urs celebrations by laying a wreath on the grave of Sachal Sain at his Dargah in Daraza Sharif.

Later, a Mehfil-e-Sama would be held at the Sama Hall and an Adabi conference would be held on Saturday at the Sachal Complex which would be presided over by Sassui Palijo, Sindh minister for culture.

On Sunday, the third day, a Sufi musical conference would be held to be presided over by the CM.

Local HOLIDAY: Deputy Commissioner of Khairpur Mohammad Abbas Baloch has announced a public holiday in the district on Aug 3 in connection with the 191st Urs of Sachal Sarmast.

The registrar of Shah Abdul Latif University has announced that the university would remain closed on Friday on account of the Urs, according to an official press release.
